Guest Reviews & Ratings
The hotel is a little oasis in the middle of this beach city, providing a quiet place to relax under the sun. The rooms, although large, are old and outdated, but they offer a convenient location near the Main Street. The service is exceptional and helpful, making the stay enjoyable.
The hotel is perfectly located, right in the heart of Playa del Carmen yet tucked away from the noise, offering easy access to the beach and local attractions. While the rooms initially had a dampness issue to address and lacked hot water upon arrival, the attentive staff and relaxing pool area made up for it. The dining options varied from disappointing to satisfying. The overall value for money is good, despite some discrepancies from the online photos.
I had a mixed experience at the hotel. The room was spacious with a balcony and a big, comfortable bed, but there were some issues like a tiny bathroom with a broken shower door and no mirror in the bedroom. It took a while for the damp smell to clear out, and there were small flies lingering with the smell. The service was helpful and really nice, with staff prepared to handle unusual situations, although there was no elevator, which might be a downside for seniors. The location was fantastic, just outside the noisy city center but close to beaches, clubs, and 5th Avenue. The dining options were limited, especially for vegans or those lactose intolerant, but the traditional local cakes were exceptional.
I was pleasantly surprised by the hotel's great location, near all the attractions I wanted to visit. The rooms were spacious and had everything I needed, although the price could have been more budget-friendly. The service was exceptional, making my stay even more enjoyable.
The hotel was just perfect for us overlooking the pool, but the room had a very stale smell due to poor ventilation. It was away from the main street, which was peaceful, but the room was tiny with limited space even for a suitcase.
The hotel is conveniently located near the Main Street, providing easy access to a variety of attractions and amenities, but the noise from the street could be bothersome. The rooms come with a mini fridge which is convenient, however, requesting a quiet room didn't guarantee a noise-free stay.
I have to say that my stay at La Tortuga Hotel & Spa was a mix of good and not so good experiences. On the positive side, the hotel is centrally located in Playa del Carmen, MX, making it convenient to explore the area. However, the rooms hadn't been used for a while, which gave them a stale smell and lacked good ventilation. On the bright side, the service was very friendly and courteous, making me feel welcome. The location was just perfect, right in the center but not on a busy road, offering a quiet escape. Although the dining was very good, there was a slight hiccup when they tried to change the menu upon realizing we had a coupon from the hotel. Despite these downsides, the hotel did offer laundry services, which added a nice touch to the stay.
Staying at this hotel was a divine experience. The rooms were pleasant, clean, and surprisingly quiet despite ongoing construction. The location was excellent, close to everything we needed, including the beach, souvenir shops, museums, restaurants, and more. The hotel's proximity to popular attractions and amenities made our stay convenient and enjoyable.
I had a mixed experience at La Tortuga Hotel & Spa. The rooms were spacious, with a comfortable bed and a balcony, but they felt a little tired, and during heavy rain, a leak through the wardrobe was an issue, which was unfortunate. Despite having A/C, the west-facing rooms got quite hot in the afternoon. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to assist with a smile. The location was a true gem, close to beaches, clubs, and 5th avenue, offering a peaceful oasis in the midst of a vibrant city. However, the dining options left something to be desired, as they were limited and catered poorly to specific dietary needs. The facilities were good overall, but improvements could enhance the guest experience further.
